Center Parcs Ireland, located down in Co. Longford, has been granted planning permission for the installation of a new inflatable floating play area.

Center Parcs Ireland reopened Longford Forest to the public earlier this month, welcoming visitors back inside after an almost four-month-long closure. Throwing open the gates on July 13th, the park has implemented a number of new measures in line with government guidance to make it safe for both guests and staff.

Certain facilities are still not available as of yet with management assuring the public that they’ll be reviewing government guidelines on a regular basis and will open additional facilities as and when they see fit.

Home to Ireland’s first outdoor spa, the facility boasts 21 different spa experiences as well as a range of face and beauty treatments. While the Subtropical Swimming Paradise and the Aqua Sana Spa remain closed, there is light at the end of the tunnel and customers have been revelling at the news that planning permission for the installation of a new inflatable floating play area has been approved.

Center Parcs officials lodged plans for the new water feature with Longford County Council back in April and thankfully they’ve been given the green light to proceed. Proposing the construction and installation of an inflatable play area (to be built on the existing lake), the plans include inflatable water slides, inflatable platforms, inflatable logs and climbing frames. A dream for anyone fond of the water.

The new development will also feature a pre-fabricated changing facility complete with showers and toilets. It’s unclear when construction will begin on the new inflatable play area but we have no doubts that it will be one of the main attractions whenever it does open.
