Kaiser Chiefs confirmed for GIAF 2020

The Galway International Arts Festival 2020 is set to be a big one.

English indie rock group, the Kaiser Chiefs, have just been confirmed for a headline gig at this years Galway International Arts Festival… and we predict a riot.

Drawing influences from new wave and punk rock music of the 70s and 80s, their debut album Employment won the band three Brit Awards and an NME award for Best Album. Well seasoned performers, they have an impressive career spanning two decades, also having supported the likes of U2, Green Day and Foo Fighters.

One of the UK’s biggest bands, they’ll take to the Heineken Big Top on Thursday, July 23rd. Known for their energetic live performances, they’re best known for chart-topping tunes such as I Predict A Riot, Ruby and Everyday I Love You Less And Less.

Founded in 1978, GIAF is a highlight in the Galway events calendar each year. Bringing some of the world’s top creatives together, other big names set to perform at this year’s festival include rock band Pixies, six-time Grammy Award-nominees The Flaming Lips and Jon Hopkins.

Not forgetting Ireland’s own Sinead O’Connor. Described as “one of the true and original living greats of our time”,  she’ll head west for a show on Sunday, July 26th.

Tickets for the Kaiser Chiefs’ Galway gig are priced at just under €50 and go on sale this Friday at 10am.

Everything is average nowadays, except for this. This is definitely above average news.
