The Pantry & Corkscrew in Westport has just welcomed a new takeaway service called Chicano.

Mayo’s first burrito bar Chicano popped up in 2020 remained just a pop up for two years. Now they have found permanent residence within Westport restaurant The Pantry & Corkscrew.

The burrito bar opened on the 13th January, and will open between Thursdays and Sundays for takeaway purposes only.

The menu is short and simple; Chicano covers the burrito basics with fillings such as brisket, mixed beans, chicken, and pork. However, it’s ‘The Wild Atlantic Prawn Burrito’ that catches our eye the most. This special is served cold, and comes with prawns, zesty rice, chopped leaves, mango salsa, guac, and smokey seafood mayo.

Chicano also serve churros and organic juices, to top off the experience.

Chicano source all their ingredients locally, taking after their sister restaurant. The Pantry & Corkscrew pride themselves on using as much locally sourced and free range products as possible in their dishes, and it seems Chicano is doing the same.

Chicano is available for collection only. You can call them at 098-44985 to make an order. They open between 4pm and 9pm, Thursday to Sunday.
