WATCH: Conor McGregor Has Responded To Claims That He’s Racist

Sarah

In case you’ve been avoiding social media the past couple days, you might not know that there’s already been a LOT of drama with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor’s promo tour of their upcoming middleweight boxing bout.

McGregor caused a storm when he shouted “Dance for me, boy!” in Los Angeles at Mayweather, with the majority of people understanding this to be a demeaning racist insult, and the uproar only getting worse when Conor repeated it in Toronto.

Mayweather commented to TMZ Sports that:

“We all know there’s only two types of boys — a white boy and a cowboy — and I’m not neither. Racism still exists but you know, I try to take something negative and turn it into something positive.

“It is what it is. He’s entitled to feel how he wants to feel. I just want to stay in my zone and stay focused.”

People across the globe were condemning the Irish MMA star for taking his onstage taunts too far.

Here’s what Conor had to say…

“All of the media seem to be saying I’m against black people… Do they not know I’m half black? I’m half black from the belly button down.”

“That doesn’t really sit well with me you know, I mean, I’m very multicultural… I’m a multicultural individual and I don’t have any ill feelings toward anyone.”

Everyone knew the media tour for this long-awaited fight would be fiery, but has it gone too far?
