Theresa May has confirmed that she is resigning as UK Prime Minister.
In a statement made outside Downing Street, Mrs. May said that she ‘has done her best to deliver Brexit’ and will end her term as leader of the Conservative Party on Friday June 7.
She added that she will stay on as Prime Minister until a successor is chosen. She also said that ‘It is and will always remain a matter of deep regret to me that I have not been able to deliver Brexit.’
