Gorse fires in West Donegal have claimed land and even threatened certain properties.
The fires are believed to have started this morning and due to the high temperatures, are continuing to rage on.
Located between Loughanure and Annagry, some members of the public took matters into their own hands to extinguish the flames.

Re Donegal, there is currently one AW139 helicopter equipped for fire fighting operations en-route to assist local authorities from Baldonnel Aerodrome. There are also 36 troops based in Finner Camp set to deploy in assistance to fire fighting operations. @IrishAirCorps

One fireman working at the scene said it was one of the “most dangerous” fires he’d seen.
