An Garda Síochana has issued an appeal for information following the death of a man on the Dublin Road last night.

The man, who was based in Cork, was beaten to death at a truck stop near Fermoy at approximately 10.30pm.

The man’s friend was also attacked but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Two men were arrested at the scene and are currently being questioned.

The body has now been removed for examination at Cork University by the State Pathologist, Margaret Bolster.

Anyone who may have information relating to the incident is asked to contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
