Incorrect Allergen Information Has Been Listed With This Popular Frozen Chicken Brand

Undeclared amounts of both mustard and milk have been found in recent batches of popular brands Big Als and Goldstar Chicken Products.

According to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, the specified batches of products (listed in the table below) contain either undeclared mustard or undeclared mustard and milk. 

The batches deemed to have undeclared milk present will now be deemed unsuitable to those with lactose intolerances. Mustard allergy, a serious problem in France and Spain, is one of 14 major allergens that must be declared in the ingredient lists whenever they appear in pre-packed food.

Caterers and retailers must ensure that final consumers are provided with the correct allergen information for these products. But the FSAI encourages shoppers to be vigilant, especially coming up to the festive season.
