Republic Of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill knows a lot about the Danish national team after overseeing a 5-1 drubbing at the Aviva Stadium back in November.
Christen Eriksen was the star of the show as Denmark dismantled O’Neill’s Irish side thus clinching their place at the 2018 World Cup at our expense.
It seems the Derryman has learned a few lessons from that fateful night if his analysis on the Denmark v Australia on ITV game today is anything to go by. O’Neill spent half-time advising the Aussies that they’re giving Eriksen too much space and the irony hasn’t gone unnoticed by Irish fans on Twitter….
The irony of Martin O’Neill talking about players not picking up Eriksen and allowing him to play between the lines

Banter watching Martin O’Neill talk about Australia not man marking Eriksen when he was doing Strictly Come Dancing inside our box to get to the World Cup

Martin O’Neill slagging the Aussies for not man marking Eriksen. The cunt scored a hat trick against us. Should have done that fucker in Dublin Martin ????

Martin O’Neill on tv saying Australia clearly don’t know how to deal with Eriksen ???? “they’ve decided to leave him free which is crazy”. You fairly sorted him at the Aviva Marty ????????

Martin O’Neill saying that Australia are giving Christian Eriksen too much space between the lines is truly more than I can bear

To be fair, these could well be the instructions O’Neill gave to his team last November and the players may be at fault for not carrying them out. Oh well, maybe we’ll know better next time.
