Would you believe that with all the scandals and celebrity hackings in the world, people still go around with these type of passwords for their various devices.

A report by Splash Data Inc has revealed the 25 most common passwords for 2018 and it just confirms how lazy people actually are.

At the top of the pile is the classic 1-6 combo while second is the highly unpredictable password, password.

Our personal favourite is qwerty because it’s just as lazy as typing 1-6 but it’s still not really anything.

Princess, Donald, Welcome, Monkey and Football make up the rest of the list which you can see below.

CEO of Splash Data Inc, who carried out the study, Morgan Slain said:

“Hackers have great success using celebrity names, terms from pop culture and sports, and simple keyboard patterns to break into accounts online because they know so many people are using those easy-to- remember combinations.

“Our hope by publishing this list each year is to convince people to take steps to protect themselves online.

“It’s a real head-scratcher that with all the risks known, and with so many highly publicized hacks such as Marriott and the National Republican Congressional Committee, that people continue putting themselves at such risk year-after-year.”
