Nightclubs have been open for a week now, and new rules and guidelines have just been released.
Following the announcement last week on the reopening of nightclubs, there was some confusion on how they would run. Taoiseach Micheál Martin said there would be more rules to follow, and some of those rules have now come to light. RTÉ political reporter Sandra Hurley tweeted some of these guidelines.

In some locations bar service may operate. There should be a one metre social distance between patrons in the queue for the bar, with an employee supervising the queue. For nightclubs specifically, those wishing to attend must purchase a ticket at least one hour in advance. This is the facilitate contact tracing. There is also to be no crowd surfing at gigs!

As stated in the original announcement, Covid certs must be presented upon entry. Matching ID will also be required.
According to RTÉ News, face masks will not be required when drinking, dancing, or eating. However, if going to the bar, queuing for the toilets, or upon entry and exit, a face mask should be worn.
These guidelines will come into effect from Friday 29th October 2021.
