You could be one of less than ten people with this position in Ireland.
If you are, or know anyone who is, a huge film fan, then this is likely to be a dream job. Omniplex Cinemas, the largest cinema chain in Ireland, are looking for a Junior Film Booker to join their team.
With this role, you’ll essentially be the person who chooses which movies get shown in the cinemas! This is a supremely rare role to open up within the industry in Ireland, as there are likely to be less than ten film bookers across all of Ireland.
The job description is as follows:
“Would you like to work with Ireland’s largest cinema group? Due to expansion plans, Omniplex Cinemas are now recruiting for a Junior Film Booker to work in our head office located in Rathmines in Dublin. A film booker is responsible for booking films for cinemas, consulting on-site cinema management teams on film choices, co-ordinating program scheduling as well as trailer running orders and marketing materials.
“The ideal candidate for this role should have a passion for cinema and film as well as possessing strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. A bachelor’s degree in film studies or a related field is preferred, but not required. Experience in the film industry is a plus, but not essential.”
