It’s fair to say that the Boys in Green had one hell of a tournament, both on and off the field.
Our fans were repeatedly dubbed ‘the best in the world’ – and it was all capped off when the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, announced she would present us with a special award for our troubles.
Tonight, that award was presented to 17-year-old Irish fan Jamie Monaghan, along with on behalf of the entire green army.
And while we watch Germany do battle with France on the pitch, it’s fantastic to know that this tournament has one more magic moment to offer us all.
