Not long after the announcement of a new Ireland-to-Spain ferry service from Brittany Ferries, Stena Line have announced a second “cruise-ferry” on its Rosslare to Cherbourg service, to be launched next summer.

The new Stena Vision will have 485 cabins with space for 1,300 people, offering the widest selection of cabins across all of the company’s ferries.

Fares start from €289 per car and driver one-way, and the travel time is scheduled to be 18 hours, leaving Rosslare at 9pm and arriving in France at 4pm the next day.

Paul Grant, Irish Sea trade director said:

We’ve seen increased demand for more services and bigger vessels and are pleased to announce that from next June we will have 12 sailings weekly on the shortest and most frequent direct service between Ireland and France.

The new 175.5m Stena Line ferry is described as a “bigger and more spacious vessel” compared to its sister ship on the same route, and will feature a ‘Nordic Spa’ including massage, sauna and jacuzzi onboard alongside its bars and restaurants.

There will also be 42 pet-friendly cabins, with rates starting from €140 for a four-berth inside cabin.
