This Heroic Garda Carried A Dog For A Kilometre After He Was Found Injured

James Fenton

Our news feeds are filled with misery, we’re all sweating in our offices and as if things couldn’t get any worse, it’s only bloody Tuesday.

Therefore, we could all do with a little pick-me-up to put that smile back on our faces. Enter this heroic Garda, whose image has been shared across social media this afternoon.

The post explains that Garda O’Callaghan ‘got a call from three people out walking the cliffs after they found a dog with a broken paw’. Upon his arrival, seeing that the pooch was in need, the officer then proceeded to ‘carry him about a kilometre back to the car and then onto the vets’.

We’ll forgive you if you need a minute to compose yourself after reading all that. The post has since attracted a lot of attention, with people evidently lapping it up as the good news story of the day. Hopefully Bailey is back on his feet soon but until then, we should all doff our caps to Garda O’Callaghan.

Bailey is a heavy-looking fella as well so that makes the feat all the more impressive.  More of this kind of content, please.
