This Is The Percentage Of Irish People Who Don’t Drink Alcohol

Over 19 per cent of Irish people don’t drink alcohol, according to a new survey.

The Irish Health Survey, which involved 10,000 people, revealed that 83 per cent of men and 79 per cent of women drink alcohol, with 16 per cent saying they had engaged in binge drinking once a week for the previous 12 months.

It also found that 49 per cent of people take part in sports or fitness activities, while 15 per cent of the population smoke cigarettes regularly.

Additionally, 53 per cent of those surveyed were found to be overweight or obese, with 74 per cent of people having visited a doctor in the past year.

According to The Irish Independent, eight per cent of people had suffered from depression in the last two weeks, with the highest incidences among teenagers and those in their early twenties.
