This Microsoft Ad Captures What Christmas Is Really All About

With the constant bombardment of ads on the telly, you could be forgiven for thinking that Christmas is all about getting a pile of presents under the tree.

However, as we all know, the best thing about the festive season is getting to spend some quality time with your nearest and dearest, be it your mum and dad, siblings, partner or BFF.

After all, that Christmas eve drink with your mates from home or Christmas morning transatlantic call to your sis in Australia are what you’re going to remember in years to come.

Microsoft have nailed the spirit of Christmas in their latest ad, which saw them travel to the North Pole to reunite glacial researcher Andreas Alexander with his family.

Andreas spends 11 months of year studying glaciers at the University Centre of Svalbard in Norway, the world’s northernmost higher education institution, surrounded by ice and snow.

His incredible research means that he misses a lot of special moments with his family and friends so the technology brand decided to put their technology to good use.
