The FAI has confirmed that an international team backroom staff member has tested positive for Covid-19, while two others are restricting their movements.

In a statement issued this afternoon, the FAI confirmed that ‘Covid-19 protocols have now been executed and contact tracing has resulted in two additional staff members now restricting their movements.’

The statement confirmed that all three backroom staff members are asymptomatic and that all players, management and other members of the backroom team have tested negative. The senior squad will fly out to Slovakia this afternoon as scheduled for their crucial Eur0 2020 play-off in Bratislava on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Galway United have confirmed that two members of their squad have tested positive for Covid-19 and that the whole squad and staff are now restricting their movements. As a result, Friday’s First Division game against Drogheda United has been postponed.
