Now, this may cause a bit of an upset.
We’ve decided to take it upon ourselves to show you guys why Leinster is definitely, DEFINITELY the best province in Ireland.
Start licking your wounds guys, because we have this one in the bag.
1. Leinster rugby is the best
Boasting some of the best rugby schools, players and jerseys (sorry, but let’s be real) in the country – Leinster remains firmly at the top of the leaderboard year in, year out.

2. We boast the majority of the population
You know all the big-dogs of the country?
Yep, we own them.

3. We’re a booming success story
With no signs of stopping. Google, Facebook and Twitter are all set up here, and they seem to be bringing their mates with them.

4. Because, The Wicklow Mountains
Need we say more?

5. Kilkenny hurlers
The best and baddest in the business, ain’t nothing getting past these guys.

6. Wexford beaches
Curracloe, Ballymoney, Rosslare and Ballinesker (even though the best craic was really in the arcades).

7. Dublin GAA
Producing stellar teams effortlessly year in, year out, the whole Dublin GAA organisation every year produces more incredible players than we’ve had hot dinners.
And we’ve had loads of dinners.

8. Niall Horan
The soundest member of the biggest boyband in the world? Yep, we’ll keep him.

9. Curragh, Punchestown and Leopardstown racecourses
Beautiful landscapes, incredible creatures and all round great craic, these racecourses are fun for all the family, and will guarantee some of the best and funnest days out you could ever imagine.

10. Trinity, Maynooth University, DCU and UCD
United only by geography, these four hit the top of the best university lists each and every year, and that’s not going to change any time soon.
They’re pretty easy on the eyes too.

11. The Trinity Ball
The biggest private party in Europe, these tickets are like gold dust and always, ALWAYS prove to be a big hitter.
12. Political buildings for days
Dáil Éireann? Yep.
Department of the Taoiseach? Sure.
Department of Public Expenditure and Reform? Yaaaasssss.
13. Dublin Zoo
Yup, we’ve got the penguins.

14. The best gig venues in Ireland
3Arena, Whelans, The Cobblestone, Button Factory – name your genre, we’ve got it.

15. Wexford Opera House
Take that, Sydney!

The K Club, Carton House, Killenard, Castleknock and Mount Wolesley, but to name a few…

17. Enough history to bore your Junior Cert teacher
Have you ever heard of a little place called Meath?
It used to be its own province for God’s sake!

18. The very best music festivals
Body&Soul, Forbidden Fruit, Dublin City Soul Festival, Longitude, Life, B.A.R.E In The Words, Castlepalooza, Another Love Story and Electric Picnic.
Sorry guys, but we’ve nailed this one.

19. Sailing
With the Irish National Sailing Club and Royal Irish Yacht Clubs based in the heart of Dun Laoghaire, sailing holds a place firmly starboard of Ireland.

20. Moneygall
The quaint Irish town that has been turned into a tourism super-hub… and I’m pretty sure that means we can claim Obama too.

21. All of the museums
All of the fun ones anyway. A trip to the Dead Zoo, anybody?
22. Powerscourt Gardens
AKA the most beautiful place on Earth.
23. Tayto Park
Featuring Europe’s largest wooden rollercoaster.
Important.

24. The Spire
The enormous steel pin we’ve all grown to know and love.

25. Croke Park

26. Phoenix Park
A heavenly place for all to roam, cycle or drive through. A haven from big city life, this park boasts an 11km perimeter wall, enclosing 1,750 acres, making it one of the largest walled city parks in Europe.
It also has herds upon herds of deer, was the location where the Pope gave his famous ‘People of Ireland, I love you’ speech and is where Michael D himself lives, so you know it has to be good.

27. And finally, Mattress Mick
Because if you’re going to be jealous of everything, be jealous of this…
