Research by financial services website GoCompare based on IMD filming locations found that Ireland is no.17 when it comes to most-filmed countries, with 2,527 movies and TV shows shot here.
As for where exactly the magic happens? These are the top 10 most-filmed locations across the country.

2. Dublin Castle
Famous films: Northanger Abbey, Barry Lyndon and Penny Dreadful.

4. Henrietta Street
Famous films: Ripper Street and Foyle’s War.
5. The Sally Gap, Wicklow
Famous films: The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse, Laws of Attraction and The Honeymooners.
6. Dublin Airport
Famous films: Educating Rita, Love Rosie and Flight of the Doves.
