This Airline Is Launching Lie-Flat Beds In Economy

Kiara Keane

This is the news we’ve been waiting forever to hear.

Thomas Cook has just announced that they’re introducing lie-flat seats for economy passengers this year.

They’ll be available on long-haul flights on the airline’s Airbus A330 planes starting from May 13.

The ‘sleeper seat’ will be across a row of three regular economy seats, towards the back of the plane, which will be transformed into a bed using a special mattress that slots into place.

They’ll also provide you with a pillow, blanket and fitted sheet as well as an amenity kit.

Adults and children over 12 can book these new seats from today, which are said to comfortably fit anyone under 5ft 11.

Thomas Cook flies to the likes of New York, San Francisco, Orlando and Cancun and you can find out more about the sleeper seat and check its availability on their site here.

Each flight will only have four of these beds available and you’ll have to secure one at the time of booking, which costs an extra £200 (€235) on top of the regular economy fare.

Still a hell of a lot cheaper than upgrading to business class, in fairness.
