The arse can really be dragged out of the Super Bowl- I mean, you’re probably all a little sick and tired of seeing the constant updates online by this stage. But there’s no denying that the ads are a huge draw and they’re designed to provide entertainment on the night as well as to hopefully get consumers to continue the conversation post-event. In this recent article by Forbes, they claim several studies have shown that 50% of viewers tune into the biggest sporting event of the year for the ads alone. That makes the commercial space pretty tasty for brands. A 30 second slot costs $4 million while a 60 second one set brands back a whopping $8 million.
And while some brands bite the bullet and fork out a fortune to shine bright in front of such a huge audience- its also become super trendy for smaller companies to piggy-back on them. UK based animation studios A+C have created this deadly 3 and a half minute long video inspired by the Super Bowl ads and made entirely of LEGO and by using stop motion. Pretty good turn-around time too from the studio. See how many of the ads you can spot!
