Ah well, new week, new movies. Here are the five best on tonight…
The Adventures Of Tintin – FilmFour – 6.55pm
Remember motion capture movies? They were all the rage for a while, but then they just kind of… went away. Well this was definitely one of the better ones, with none other than Spielberg himself adapting the incredibly popular novel series, and has a truly impressive cast to work with: Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Jamie Bell, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and loads more.
US Marshalls – TCM – 9pm
Did you know that The Fugitive has a sequel? But one that forgets about Harrison Ford, and focuses on Tommy Lee Jones cranky US Marshall? You probably didn’t, because it wasn’t nearly as good as the original, but it is still diverting enough, thanks to a great plane crash sequence and Jones joined by a pre-Iron Man Robert Downey Jnr. in hunting down Wesley Snipes.
Beverly Hills Cop III – Sky One – 9pm
The threequel isn’t as good as the first two, but it is still worth seeing Eddie Murphy in this very fun role, this time looking into a counterfeit money ring being run out of a theme park in Los Angeles.
Passengers – FilmFour – 9pm
Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence are two strangers who are accidentally woken up decades before their space mission arrives at their new home planet. With no way to get back into cryo-sleep, they’re forced to work together to survive on the empty ship. And when you look like Pratt and Lawrence, there’s a chance they’ll find each other very attractive, too…
Predators – ITV4 – 10.05pm
Adrian Brody heads a group of mismatched humans who are selected for their proficiency at killing folk, and they’re all transported to the Predator home planet to give the new alien hunters some target practise. The second best of the Predator movies, which is damning with faint praise…
