Not so wee Daniel.

The record for Ireland’s tallest snowman has been smashed in the small town of Dungloe, West Donegal.

Prior to this the tallest snowman in Ireland stood at 10ft 2 inches, but Daniel, who has absolutely no need to lie about his height on his Tinder profile reigns supreme at an impressive 12ft 1.

Daniel is the handiwork of Dungloe locals Sophia Sweeney, Erin ODonnell, Ruby McBride, Amy Timoney, Ella McBride and Isabella Sweeney, who hope their icy creation will stay standing for as long as the cold snap continues.

“We hit the new record of a massive 12 ft 1 inch. This took us over seven hours of hard work to construct”, the group of assemblers told Donegal Daily.

“It fell down, but we all got him back up again and pushed harder and further to reach this record. We would love for our work to get the recognition it deserves”.

It’s likely Daniel will stay standing tall for the next while, as the Winter Weather Advisory currently in place for Ireland has been extended til 9am this Friday (20th).

Met Éireann have forecast lowest temperatures of -4 to -1 degrees, adding that it will be colder locally in Ulster and the north midlands.

Another Daniel thriving in Donegal. Who’d have thought we’d see the day?
