There’s a gorge new seafood spot along the Wild Atlantic Way with a Mexican twist

Fiona Frawley

No Irish summer is complete without a trip to Donegal.

Unspoiled sandy beaches, cracking pints and some of the friendliest, most welcoming locals in the country, you just can’t bate it.

If you’re planning a trip to Donegal and not sure whereabouts to stay, Dunfanaghy is always a great shout. A gorge small village overlooking Sheephaven Bay and surrounded by blue flag beaches, it really is the perfect base for exploring the north west coast. Wondering what to eat while you’re there? As you’ve probably guessed by now, I’ve got you covered.

Corcreggan Fish & Chips, a delish new spot located within the grounds of the gorge Corcreggan Mills is a must for seafood lovers. Obviously, they’ve got you sorted with good ole fashioned fish & chips (it’s in the name) but they also have an unreal selection of delicious Mexican dishes. We’re talking quesadillas, we’re talking tacos, and we’re talking epic weekly specials like these Salt Cod Croquetas which have me itching to boot it up the N56 quicker than a free from Michael Murphy (I’m not a sports gal at all so I can’t tell you how delighted I am with myself for including this reference).

These guys are open Thursday-Sunday from June through September and are definitely worth hitting up before the summer’s out.
