‘Christmas light tours’ have basically become a festive tradition in Ireland.
And by ‘Christmas light tours’ we mean the whole fam bundling into the car with hot chocs and driving around housing estates for a gawk.
Maybe it’s just ’cause we’re nosy and we finally have an excuse to peer in peoples’ gardens… Or maybe it’s because Christmas decorations around the country are getting more and more outrageously extravagant as the years go by.
Testament to the latter is the this Wexford home, which has been transformed by the Fitzpatricks into an absolute Winter Wonderland.
It’s so dazzling, that it’s actually difficult to find the house!
The Drinagh masterpiece is a frontrunner in Energia’s national competition for ‘Ireland’s Most Christmassy Home 2017’.
With three days left to vote, other star homes include the Noonan home in Templeglantine…
And the Giblin home in Drogheda, Co Meath…
Amy O’Shaughnessy, Marketing Acquisitions and Sponsorship Manager, Energia commented ‘We’ve been really impressed with the standard of the entries into this year’s competition and it was tough choosing our Top 20.
‘The public has until 10am on Friday morning to choose Ireland’s Most Christmassy Home 2017. Don’t forget, all of the prize money from this year’s competition will be donated to the local charities of choice of the winning homes.’
So there you go. If you’re planning a national Christmas lights tour, you know where to stop off!
