Thousands of U2 fans still haven’t found what they’re looking for as tickets for their July 22nd gig at Croke Park sold out in minutes this morning.
While some lamented the news by taking their frustrations out on social media, others decided to take action.
While their have been whispers of a second gig set to be announced at GAA HQ, the people of Cork have decided that it’s about time Bono and the boys took a trip south by setting up this petition.
In it, they urge the Joshua Tree rockers to perform at the city’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh on August 8th, exactly 30 years after they concluded the European leg of the original Joshua tree tour at the same venue.
“U2 concluded the European leg of the original Joshua tree tour at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on August 8th 1987. It so happens that the same date August 8 is available this year, a fitting end to the 30 year celebration!”
We get the feeling that if a second U2 gig is announced, tickets will be snapped up within minutes regardless of location so be sure to keep an eye on this page for any developments.
