The 2023 Golden Globes nominations were announced on Monday (12 December), with multiple Irish stars securing nods.
Irish film The Banshees of Inisherin – which is arriving on Disney+ very soon – received eight nominations, the most of any movie.
Its writer-director Martin McDonagh is in the running in the Best Director and Best Screenplay categories, with the movie itself being nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
Meanwhile, Colin Farrell is also nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his work in the film, while his co-stars Barry Keoghan, Brendan Gleeson and Kerry Condon received nods in the supporting acting categories.
On top of this, Domhnall Gleeson – son of Brendan – was also nominated in the TV section of the Golden Globes for his work playing a serial killer in the psychological drama series The Patient.
Domhnall received his nomination in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television category.
The ceremony for the 80th Golden Globes Awards is scheduled to be held on 10 January 2023 and will be hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael.
