A casual return to his old neighbourhood absolutely made one debutant’s night.

According to The Independent, Bono made a journey back to his childhood home in Glasnevin on Sunday 4th September where he came across Lucie Dunne, an 18 year old off to her Debs. In a wholesome series of photos it looks as if Bono is Lucie’s escort, much to her and her family’s delight.

Bono had returned to Cedarwood Road in Glasnevin to film for something in partnership with his upcoming memoir. However, he made sure to take ample time to get photos with Dunne. The Independent reports that Bono said that he was “surrounded by royalty.”

Derek Dunne, Lucie’s father, spoke to The Independent, saying:

He came out and he was really generous with his time. He stayed for about 20 minutes, and he came over towards me and he saw Lucie and he said, ‘Oh my god, the debutante. I’m in the presence of royalty. He sort of went down one knee and gave Lucie a little twirl and was really complimentary to her.

The current owners of Bono’s childhood home also shared some great pictures from his visit to 10 Cedarwood Road.

Marty Whelan chimed in with his thoughts, offering a congratulations to Lucie on attending her debs.
