The Cranberries post touching tribute to Dolores O’Riordan on the third anniversary of her death

James Fenton

The Cranberries have paid tribute to their lead singer Dolores O’Riordan on the third anniversary of her death.

Dolores O’Riordan passed away on January 15, 2018 at the age of 46. Her death led to tributes from all over the world, while thousands of people filed past her coffin at St. Joseph’s Church in Limerick over the course of three days.

The singer will never be forgotten by fans, nor will her powerful voice, and this morning Dolores’ bandmates have posted a tribute to her reflecting this sentiment.

Fergal Lawler, Mike Hogan and Noel Hogan took to social media to say that ‘it’s hard to believe that three years have gone by since Dolores passed on. She is always in our thoughts and our hearts. So many years of fond memories. Wherever you are D, we hope you’re bringing joy with your unique voice. Ferg, Mike and Noel.’

A sentiment that is surely echoed by fans from Dolores’ home city of Limerick to those right across the world. Who could ever forget a voice like this?

The Late Late Show will be paying its own tribute to Dolores tonight, with Cork singer Lyra set to perform a song in her honour. You can catch it all on RTÉ One tonight from 9.35pm.
