Friends ‘Main Character’ Revealed And We Don’t Know How To Deal With It

Okay, I’m not too sure how I feel about this as I’ve always just presumed the six were the main characters.

Sure, I’ve discussed which is my favourite a million times with mates, but one curious young data scientist by the name of Yashu Seth took it one step further to find out the facts. And how did he do this?

He downloaded all 10 seasons of the transcripts and from there he compiled the following information.

The first area he looked at was the total number of lines they each had. Rachel and Ross came out on top here with 9,000 lines each while Phoebe had the least with only 7,400. This also showed that Ross had the most lines in the first three seasons as well as the last, probably because the whole Ross and Rachel thing was in its prime here.

Chandler had the most screen appearances but again, Ross and Rachel were not far behind while Rachel had her name in the episode titles more than anyone else.

The big kicker in this was the amount of individual screen appearances and Ross was the winner of this by a country mile. Himself and Rachel were neck and neck until this point, but this ultimately led to Ross being our main character.

You may not be happy with this but these are the facts folks – you’ll have to deal with it.
