We sometimes pity the people who have to run club GAA accounts. They have to stand out in the pissing rain to tweet about a Junior B league game that doesn’t even count.
And if they don’t, they’ll get abuse about not informing followers of the club about results and scores.
Whoever runs Official Ferns GAA account was on the ball on Friday night as they took on St.Anne’s in the U20 Div. 3 Final.
One of the stand out players from the first-half was Jason Maguire who had a handful of scores raise the white flag.
Then, Maguire turned a little off colour and missed a relatively easy chance on goal.
But that’s not what the twitter account said:
Another goal chance for us but it ends with Jason Maguire shooting wife

They did clarify that Jason had in fact shot ‘wide’ and their correction is almost as funny as the mistake itself.
I mean shooting wide. Don’t think Jason is married. And she’d hardly deserve that sort of treatment anyway. https://t.co/33WhtZIfef

Well, whether Jason was shooting ‘wife’ or on target, his team ran out champions with a 2-7 to 1-5 win.
