It’s always a danger when Irish TV tries to replicate British success stories. We’re looking at you, The Weakest Link with Eamon Dunphy…
There have been one or two notable exceptions though, chief among them Gogglebox Ireland, which first hit our screens in 2016 and returns for series four tonight.
Since the show first aired, audiences have laughed and cried along with the likes of the Tully twins from Cavan, Tadhg and his Granny Ettie from Clare and the Cabra Girls as the participants sit back and do what we all love doing the most – watch the TV and pass judgement.

Gogglebox Ireland gets underway tonight on Virgin Media One (formerly TV3 – we promise to stop reminding everyone of that soon) at 9pm.
