Instagram video is getting big just like video is taking over on their parent Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and the web in general. To capture this move Instagram started rolling out a new feature at the weekend that works in pretty much the same way as Snapchat stories.
Essentially it sits within the discover tab (USA only for now) and features staff curated videos around specific events. This sort of editorially driven content has been a huge win for Snapchat and with the amount of users, location data and content Instagram have as well as celebrities this should be a pretty big deal. - Is this a threat to cable and traditional TV for sports events etc?
- Most things on Instagram are pubic by default which will help them
