Irish Concerts Are Set To Get Much Tighter New Security Measures

katedemolder

Following the recent terrorist attacks in the UK cities of Manchester and London, new and tighter security measures are set to be in place for some Irish concerts this summer.

These include the banning of backpacks and large electronic devices from gigs.

We’ve already seen the banning of backpacks from both Shawn Mendes’ gig at the 3Arena and Guns N’ Roses at Slane, with other major gigs now following suit.

Backpacks will now not be allowed into Robbie Williams’ concert and the massive Coldplay concert at Croke Park.

According to The Independent, Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions has said:

“We are always reviewing security. We will not allow anyone in with backpacks. We promoted all through the Troubles in Northern Ireland so we are well aware of security arrangements at all these gigs.”

However these bans won’t be in place at the country’s bigger festivals, as camping is available on-site.
