Viewers of last night’s Late Late Show were less than impressed with an ‘insensitive’ photo of Seamus Coleman shared during a photography segment.
A photo of the moment the Irish footballer suffered a serious leg break was featured in the segment about a photography competition, with Ryan jokingly exclaiming “Bend it like Beckham”.
One Twitter user wrote: “Shocking and distasteful of The Late Late Show to celebrate the photo of Seamus Coleman horror tackle last year! Best wishes to him resurrecting his career!”
Another added:
‘How does Ryan Tubridy keep doing it Bend it like Beckam indeed – that was Seamus Coleman’s broken leg. #LateLateShow – bad enough showing picture without warning! @FAIreland @offtheball‘

Another viewer commented: “Ah now, having Seamus Coleman’s leg break as an ‘award winning’ picture is taking the mick, the poor fella”.
The Republic of Ireland captain underwent surgery on a fractured right tibia and fibula he suffered in a World Cup qualifier back in March and made his Everton return just last month.
