People just can’t seem to get it.
While nationality mix ups are extremely common, it always just seems to go one way. If there’s a talented Irish actor/sportsperson/whatever, just stick a British flag on there and no one will know the difference.

The latest offence comes courtesy of BT Sports, who last night presented Michael Conlan alongside a British flag for his homecoming against Brazilian Adeilson Dos Santos.
While some will argue that the Belfast boxer is technically a British citizen, he fights for Ireland and identifies as Irish – and the fans were having none of it.

It was a happy ending for Conlan however, who won the eight-round super-featherweight contest 79-73.
