PICS: Just Paul Mescal serving looks in a 10k designer fleece and “vintage” GAA shorts

Sarah Finnan

Paul Mescal has a feature spread in this month’s GQ men’s magazine. Asking him about everything from his meteoric rise to fame to what his teenage ambitions were, none of that seems to be of any interest to the Irish public who are too preoccupied with a shot of the Kildare man donning a designer fleece and pair of GAA shorts.

The same publication to dub GAA shorts fashionable back in June of this year (feels like a lifetime ago), men’s magazine GQ has proven that there’s more to sweaty sports gear than you might thing. Running an editorial feature on “crush of the year” Paul Mescal, the interview has several accompanying images – one of which shows Mescal donning a woolly fleece and a pair of shorts.

Not just any fleece and shorts though. No, the Normal People star is photographed wearing a $10,000 designer fleece and a pair of “vintage shorts by Kildare GAA”. Very glamorous altogether and nothing like the getups we’d throw on for Thursday night training.
