A Movie ‘Too Intense For Some To Stomach’ Is On Irish TV Tonight

If you’re planning to turn to your tellybox for a bit of cheer this Monday evening, you best steer clear of TG4.

While Requiem For A Dream has been met with generally positive reviews since its release in 2000, it still remains one of the darker movie of the century so far.

The plot revolves around four drug-addicts who all enter into a downward spiral which has devastating effects on their families. All four characters are left as hollow shelves of their former selves as the movie unfolds.

Starring Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly among others, the film has a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes where the critics consensus reads ‘Though the movie may be too intense for some to stomach, the wonderful performances and the bleak imagery are hard to forget.’
