Irish actress Saoirse Ronan has revealed that she’s planning on taking some time out from the movie industry in the near future.
Currently on the promotional trail for Lady Bird, a movie for which she has received a Golden Globe nomination, the 23-year-old has told the Irish Independent about her plans to enjoy life more in between movie projects.
She said:
“I’ve always loved acting so much but it’s all I’ve ever known. And I had a panic recently where I thought I’ve got to go do other things.
“I’ve got to go travel. I even find when I’m working, I can’t read, I can’t watch TV, I can’t do anything. I guess I can listen to podcasts, but I can’t really be stimulated by anything other than the projects. Your world becomes so small.”
Coming-of-age drama Lady Bird has been receiving rave reviews and generating a lot of Oscar buzz recently ahead of its release in Ireland on February 16.
If Saoirse is true to her word, it might be the last time we get a glimpse of her talents for a while and you can get a sample of her critically-acclaimed performance in the trailer below.
Lady Bird is Ronan’s 21st performance in a feature film while her next roles will be in 2018’s The Seagull and Mary Queen Of Scots.
