Some very good comedies, some very good action, and a few others than you can enjoyably switch your brain off to while it is on the telly…

The Predator – FilmFour – 9pm

When a young boy (Jacob Tremblay) accidentally triggers the universe’s most lethal hunters’ return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers (including Thomas Jane, Boyd Holbrook, Keegan-Michael Key, Alfie Allen and more) and a disgruntled scientist (Olivia Munn) can prevent the end of the human race.

American Pie – Comedy Central – 9pm

Four teenage boys (Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Eddie Kaye Thomas) enter a pact to lose their virginity by prom night.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers – Sky Showcase (Sky One) – 9pm

While Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) edge closer to Mordor with the help of the shifty Gollum (Andy Serkis), the divided fellowship makes a stand against Sauron’s new ally, Saruman (Christopher Lee), and his hordes of Isengard.
