Master explorer Dirk Pitt (Matthew McConaughey) goes on the adventure of a lifetime of seeking out a lost Civil War battleship known as the “Ship of Death” in the deserts of West Africa while helping a WHO doctor (Penelope Cruz) being hounded by a ruthless dictator.

Escape From Alcatraz – BBC Four – 9pm

Alcatraz is the most secure prison of its time. It is believed that no one can ever escape from it, until three daring men (one of whom is played by Clint Eastwood) make a possibly successful attempt at escaping from one of the most infamous prisons in the world.

An untested American submarine captain (Gerard Butler) teams with U.S. Navy Seals to rescue the Russian president, who has been kidnapped by a rogue general (Gary Oldman).

God’s Own Country – FilmFour – 1.05am

Spring. Yorkshire. Young farmer Johnny Saxby (Josh O’Connor) numbs his daily frustrations with binge drinking and casual sex, until the arrival of a Romanian migrant worker (Alec Secareanu) for lambing season ignites an intense relationship that sets Johnny on a new path.
