If there’s one way to increase excitement towards a new season of one of the most popular TV shows of recent years, it’s by announcing new cast members.
That’s exactly what Stranger Things has just done by confirming a new pair of seasoned actors to join the young cast which sprang to fame upon the release of season one in 2016.Â
Two years and a couple of seasons later and the show is now one of the most talked-about Netflix series since, well, earlier this decade when Netflix really started to take over people’s lives. But who’s going to be joining teenage sensations Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Mattarazzo in Hawkins, Indiana for season three?
Firstly, Cary Elwes will be playing the ‘handsome, slick, and sleazy Mayor Kline’…
Elwes is perhaps best known for his roles in The Princess Bride and Robin Hood: Men In Tights and his role is described as ‘a classic 80s politician, more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.’
He’ll be joined by Jake Busey as a journalist from The Hawkins Post…
Known as Bruce, the writer has ‘questionable morals and a sick sense of humour.’ Busey may be recognisable from his roles in Starship Troopers, Enemy Of The State or Christmas With The Kranks.Â
Stranger Things 3 is expected to be released at the end of 2018 at the earliest and today’s news should whet fans’ appetites for a while. Will Eleven and Mike’s romance blossom? Is Will set to be terrorised once again? Will Hopper and Joyce ever give up the smokes? We’ll have to wait and see.Â
