Amy Huberman’s RTÉ show, ‘Striking Out’ is currently on its third episode of the second series.
The show – which has received a largely positive reception since its debut – airs every Sunday night at 9:35 and follows the life of Tara Rafferty, a lawyer who finds her fiancé sleeping with another woman just two weeks before their wedding.
In addition to that, she also works for her fiancé’s dad’s firm and chooses to leave and set up her own one.
If you haven’t had a gawk of it yet, you really should.
Anyway, viewers were very surprised last night to see the RTÉ show throw up an almighty throwback with one of the show’s newest characters.
People thought that Sister Frances looked a bit familiar and they were right to think that as she turned out to be one of the most famous Irish television icons of the 90s.
The queen of Sunday nights was back on our telly last night…
I’ve just realised that Sister Frances was played by Mary McEvoy, aka Biddy from Glenroe.
That explains my current case of 1990s level of Sunday night fear. Bhfuil m’obair bhaile déanta agam??? #strikingout pic.twitter.com/IVm6IvhtcG
