The most anticipated new show of 2020 is finally available to watch in Ireland this week

Rory Cashin

The show comes from the genius director of Alien, Gladiator, and The Martian.

There is no denying that director Ridley Scott is a living legend.

The mind (and eyes) behind the likes of Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, American Gangster, The Martian, Prometheus, Hannibal, Black Hawk Down, and so many more, he is synonymous with big ideas presented beautifully to audiences.

So when he announces that he is not only executive producing but also directing episodes of a huge budget new series, then it is our obligation to sit up and take notice, and that is exactly what we have done with Raised By Wolves.

Originally premiering in the States on HBO Max in September this year, it was unclear if the show would be made available on this side of the Atlantic (since HBO Max isn’t available in Ireland), but thankfully it has been picked up for Irish audiences, and has now skipped right to the front of our Must-Binge watches.

As HBO describe it, the show centres on “two androids – Father and Mother – tasked with raising human children on a planet known as Kepler-22b after the Earth was destroyed by a great war. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.”

As you’ll see from the trailer below, this is a HUGE show with a massive scope, as well as some incredible in-front-of-the-camera talent, including Travis Fimmel (Vikings) and brilliant upcoming Irish actress Niamh Algar (Calm With Horses). It all combines into a show that we were be staying indoors all weekend for.

All episodes of Raised By Wolves will be available to watch on NOW TV from Friday, December 4.
