October is upon us, and with it comes bad weather and a constant desire to stay indoors and watch something good on the TV.
But what to watch? Well, the good folks at Now TV will be providing the following new TV shows and movies on their service during the month, and while there will be a lot more throughout October, this is the stuff that definitely caught our attention right now:

Alden Ehrenreich (the new Han Solo) and Demi Moore star in this sci-fi tale dealing with a utopian society that has achieved peace through hard work and the assistance of artificial intelligence. But as you can probably guess, all utopias are just one bad day away from becoming a dystopia…
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver – weekly from Monday, October 5
Having quickly become one of the voices of reason in a time of… whatever the opposite of reason is… John Oliver will make you laugh almost as much as he’ll make you angry with his pointed, intelligent look at everything that is going wrong (and sometimes, going right!) in the world today.
Catching A Serial Killer: Sam Little – all episodes from Sunday, October 18
Sam Little claims to have killed 93 women, but he has only officially been convicted for four of them. Over the course of this documentary, former prosecutor and investigative journalist Beth Karas follows his trail of terror.
The Undoing – weekly from Monday, October 26
Nicole Kidman reunites with Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelly for this tense drama, she plays a successful therapist who has her entire life turned upside when her husband (Hugh Grant) suddenly disappears, and they are linked to a very violent death.

Just Mercy – Friday, October 2
Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson star in this powerful true-life courtroom drama, telling the story of a man wrongfully convicted of a crime, and a racially biased legal system uninterested in finding out the truth.
Bloodshot – Friday, October 9
Based on a graphic novel that really puts GRAPHIC into graphic novel, Vin Diesel stars as a soldier who has a top-secret technology tested out on him that essentially gives him Wolverine-y type powers, constantly able to heal himself. But he’s more interested in getting revenge on the people who are now using him as a weapon.
The Secret Garden – Friday, October 23
This latest retelling of the classic children’s novel features Colin Firth, Julie Walters and newbie Dixie Egerickx as the young orphan who is sent to live with her isolated uncle, only to discover a very special place on the grounds of his home.
The Lighthouse – Sunday, October 25
Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe star in this darkly funny but still very unsettling thriller, dealing with two late 19th-century lighthouse keepers who both slowly begin to go mad from being left alone for months on end. Plus the random sights of weird sea creatures don’t help matters…
The Invisible Man – Friday, October 30
Just in time for Halloween, one of the best films of 2020. Elisabeth Moss finds out that her abusive ex-boyfriend has committed suicide, but she soon finds herself being tormented by an unseeable entity. Is it him, or has she lost her mind?
