These are the five best movies on TV tonight

Rory Cashin

Your Tuesday night Movies on TV viewing menu has arrived!

To be honest, with Star launching on Disney+ today, that will likely take up most of your evening, and then week, and then year.

But if you don’t have a Disney+ subscription, maybe you’ll enjoy one of these tonight instead.

Now You See Me 2 – FilmFour – 6.30pm

We’re not quite sure why this movie is on TV so much lately, especially since the first movie is actually a little bit better. But still, if you’re in the mood for an all-star cast playing magicians who are actually bank robbers, then this is the second best of that kind of movie.

Shallow Grave – FilmFour – 9pm

The first of your Ewan McGregor movies tonight sees him playing a housemate who discovers that the new lodger has died and left loads of money behind. But once he gets into the idea of spending it and pretending the dead guy was never there, some bad people come snooping around.

Backtrace – SyFy – 10pm

Google tells us that this about “A thief that suffers from amnesia after a bank heist, and is put in prison where seven years later, he is injected with a drug that compels him to remember his past so that he may recover the stolen money.” We’ve never heard of it, so it must be bad, but we wanted to give you options!

Coogan’s Bluff – ITV4 – 10.30pm

Clint Eastwood stars in this thriller, playing a cop who is charged with transporting a murderer to court, only for the criminal to escape, and Eastwood is forced to track him down.

Trainspotting – FilmFour – 10.50pm

And your second Ewan McGregor outing tonight is the iconic Scottish comedy- drama, this time playing a drug addict attempting to get his life back on track, but constantly pulled back into the world of addiction by his friends.
