These are the five best movies on TV tonight

Rory Cashin

Three of the five movies begin at 9pm, so you’ve got some decisions to make.

Happy Hump Day!

Half way through the first week of March, going strong!

If you’re at a loose end this evening (and let us be honest, who isn’t??), then why not check out one or more of these?

The Great Wall – E4 – 9pm

Matt Damon and Pedro Pescal are drafted into this ancient epic, forced into fighting alongside some of the greatest warriors in China’s history against an invading race of alien monsters.

Breaking In – FilmFour – 9pm

Gabrielle Union heads to the house of her recently-deceased father, checking the place out with her young kids, when a group of robbers suddenly arrive, convinced there is a safe somewhere inside.

Superbad – Comedy Central – 9pm

One of the most iconic teen-comedies of all time, with a massively impressive cast: Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Emma Stone, Seth Rogen, Bill Hader, Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and loads more. Two best friends finally get invited to the cool kids house party, but on the proviso that they bring along the booze. Which is easier said than done.

The Matrix – ITV4 – 10pm

Keanu Reeves heads up this legendary action sci-fi, attempting to free himself and all of mankind from a ruling race of robots. He’ll fight back with guns and kicks to the face.

Disturbia – FilmFour – 10.45pm

Soon after he’s put under house-arrest, Shia LaBeouf believes he has witnessed his neighbour kill someone. Nobody believes him, so he tries to find proof of the murder himself.
