This Star-Studded Crime Movie On RTÉ Is Your Excuse For A Friday Night In

We don’t know about you but to us, it feels like one of those Fridays where the couch is calling which is why we’re very grateful to RTÉ for their choice of Friday night movie. The national broadcaster will be airing 2007 Ridley Scott-directed crime epic American Gangster.

The movie boasts an all-star cast consisting of Russell Crowe, Denzel Washington, Cuba Gooding Jr, and the late Ruby Lee who was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as the mother of crime boss Frank (Washington).

The movie is a fictionalised version of Frank’s life as he became one of the most powerful crime lords in America and the efforts of Crowe’s veteran cop character in taking him down.

If you haven’t seen it, or have forgotten all about it in the decade since it was in the cinema, it’s guaranteed to keep you entertained tonight.

All you need now is a bottle of vino and you’re sorted. American Gangster  airs on RTÉ 1 tonight at 9.35pm. Check out the trailer below.
