James Fenton

“What the f*ck was that about?” – A common exclamation when Netflix viewers are are none too plussed about the ending of an episode of their favourite show.

Well, those head-scratching finales could soon be a thing of the past if this latest development catches on.

According to Bloomberg, the streaming service is planning on allowing viewers to choose the endings to shows like Black Mirror. An episode of the upcoming series of the hit sci-fi show will give viewers the option to choose which way the storylines go.

The method was used in last year’s Puss In Book, an animated programme where children could watch one storyline before going back and seeing an alternative tale.

Bloomberg cites Jim Eko the chief operating officer of Eko, a company that produces interactive shows as saying ‘The time is right for interactive TV to become a mainstream experience.’

What TV or movie endings would you like to see an alternative version of? Let us know in the comments.
